Where they started, and what kept going wrong

Starting point

Over the years, event production briefs facts had been copied onto page after page. Updates reached whichever versions someone remembered.

The problem

For event production briefs, staff had to ask which page a caller was reading before daring to answer. Correcting one section never guaranteed the other versions had been found.

What we built

Answer: The facts about production responsibilities and previous event formats now live in one maintained reference. Ownership, a review schedule and a checklist of affected pages are part of the handover.

What changed

Answer: Day to day with event production briefs, the business maintains one reference and checks the rest against it. Contradictions have nowhere left to hide.

Our event production briefs information contradicted itself so often I checked nothing. Having one source of truth changes that.

Questions about this case study

How long did this project take?

10 working days after content approval, including staff review and handover.

Which plan includes this work?

Everything this project used is included on every EventWebStudio plan (Load-In, Showtime, Encore), from $127 a month with the $697 build fee invoiced after launch.

Why is the client not named?

On purpose. The case study names the type of business (festival production and staging team) and the region (Omaha, Nebraska) only, so no business name, web address or logo appears. The quote is Emily Millington's own words, used with permission.
